DEPUTY DIRECTOR: PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Salary: R406 839 per annum (Level 11) Package
Requirements: Relevant post graduate qualification plus 8-10 years experience within the heritage management field, with at least 5 years in a Senior Management position. A valid driver’s licence. A good understanding of the Public Finance Management Act, as well as the public entity operational environment. Good budgeting, planning and writing skills.
Duties: In terms of heritage legislation, supervise the research and compliance function of the organisation, specifically with regard to the built environment and archaeology. Compile and review Heritage Management plans. Plan, budget for, compile and monitor the performance plan Key Performance Indicators.
SENIOR HERITAGE OFFICER: MUSEUM COLLECTIONS
KWAZULU CULTURAL MUSEUM (ONDINI)
Salary: R174 117 – R202 149 (Level 8)
Requirements: An appropriate 3 year tertiary qualification plus 5 years experience in Museum Collection maintenance. A valid driver’s licence.
Duties: Curate the ethnographic and photographic collection and library. Collect museum objects and capture data. Research and interpret collections. Assist in planning and facilitating of exhibitions at the Museum.

SENIOR HERITAGE OFFICER – BATTLEFIELDS
Salary: R113 568 - R131 856 per annum (Level 6-7)
Requirements: A relevant qualification plus 5 years experience in a heritage related field. Good report writing and communication skills. A valid driver’s licence.
Duties: Maintain heritage sites in the Ladysmith area. Liaise with stakeholders.
SENIOR HERITAGE OFFICER – SHIYANE/RORKE’S DRIFT
Salary: R140 208 – R162 783 per annum (Level 7)
Requirements: A relevant qualification plus 5 years experience in relevant fields, including administration. Sound communication and supervisory skills. Good report writing skills. A valid driver’s licence.
Duties: Be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the centre. Supervise staff. Maintain buildings and equipment. Liaise with the community.
KWAZULU CULTUAL MUSEUM (ONDINI)
Salary: R140 208 – R162 783 per annum (Level 7-8)
Requirements: An appropriate 3 year tertiary qualification, plus 7 years’ experience in Education. Good report writing and communication skills. A valid driver’s licence. Good understanding of Information Technology programmes. Fluency in English and isiZulu.
Duties: Plan and execute programmes relevant to education in the Museum. Assist with the planning and development of exhibitions. Liaise with relevant Education Authorities. Co-ordinate in-service training in the Education Section.
